The City of Refuge Church in Gardena appreciates the support of Civic Duty cofounders Julian Omidi and Dr. Michael Omidi for the First Annual Benefit Concert of the Ladies of the City Choir. The benefit concert will raise money for three charities dedicated to women’s health and safety.

The City of Refuge Church and its Ladies of the City Choir thank Civic Duty founders Dr. Michael Omidi and his brother Julian Omidi for sponsoring their First Annual Benefit Concert. The benefit concert to be held October 13, 2013 will raise money for organizations that work for women’s health and safety. The concert proceeds will fund three foundations, the Jenesse Center for Domestic Violence, American Heart Association Go Red for Women and Breast Cancer Angels.
“This benefit concert is the first of what we hope are many successful events supporting foundations devoted to women’s health and wellness issues,” says Debra Marzett, Sponsorship Chairperson of The Ladies of the City Choir. “Thank you to the Omidi brothers and Civic Duty for helping to sponsor this very special event.”

The City of Refuge Church and the Ladies of the City Choir have selected three charities that specifically serve the spiritual, emotional and financial needs of women and children. Concert proceeds will benefit:
- The American Heart Association Go Red for Women (http://www.goredforwomen.org) was born from the need of opening up women’s awareness of the dangers of cardiovascular disease. More than 200,000 women die of heart disease every year; many of the victims never having been diagnosed with heart disease.
- Breast Cancer Angels (http://www.breastcancerangels.org) is a small nonprofit organization that gives financial and emotional support to women who were diagnosed with breast cancer. More than 400 women are aided by Breast Cancer Angels every year.
- Jenesse Center for Domestic Violence (http://www.jenesse.org) provides domestic abuse survivors with a refuge and the necessary tools for permanently ending the cycle of violence. The center offers shelter, health services, legal services, counseling, continuing education, children’s services and assistance in locating permanent housing.

The City of Refuge (http://www.noeljonesministries.org) is a Bible-believing, Christian church serving a growing membership of 17,000 in Gardena, California. The church has been led by Bishop Noel Jones since 1994.
